HOTFIX 202311067 for WebCenter 23.11

Symptoms

This issue only happens in a very specific situation:

In short, the document needs to have a cyclic document reference self-references and workflow driven approval when up-versioning from a Dashboard. If and only if all of these are true, then there is a problem with view file generation of the new version.

Full symptoms:

The viewable document needs to have an attribute category with a document reference. The document reference needs to be configured as the "latest version" and should have at least one document: the viewable document itself. (this is a cyclic reference).

Additionally, this document needs to have approval managed by the workflow.

The previous stage of the approval should have been finished (e.g. approved), but the workflow did not "finish" the approval (No "Finish Approval" node). The workflow then directs the document to a task where the user can use a Task Dashboard to upload a new version.

When uploading this new version and saving the task, the save is successful, but there is an error in the log files and the view files do not generate.

This issue may not immediately be clear as the previous version's thumbnail will continue to show. Upon attempting to render the new version to Viewer, the document will instead be downloaded and rendered via the browser plugins for the particular document type.

Check & Register status of the new version in the document's Action History will have a grey magnifying glass icon. Hovering over the icon shows 'Unknown'.
